About this coin
Designed by John R. Sinnock and introduced in 1946, the Roosevelt Dime commemorates Franklin D. Roosevelt's role in founding the March of Dimes, the public campaign against polio.
Composition shifted from 90% silver to copper-nickel clad in 1965 under the Coinage Act, which removed silver from most U.S. circulating coinage.
